Keyboard Action & Touch Sensitivity

The Kawai DG30 features Kawai’s acclaimed Responsive Hammer III (RHIII) key action. Designed to recreate the tactile feel of an acoustic grand piano, it incorporates grade-weighted hammers, bass region counterweights, let-off simulation, and triple-sensor key detection for precise control and dynamic expressiveness.

Key Construction & Key Surface

Equipped with a standard 88-key layout, the keys feature Kawai's moisture-absorbing Ivory Touch key surfaces. These matte-finish keytops absorb perspiration during play to maintain optimal grip and comfort during extended practice or performance sessions.

Acoustic Realism & Sound Engines

Powered by Kawai’s Progressive Harmonic Imaging (PHI) sound engine, the DG30 captures full 88-key stereo samples from legendary acoustic pianos. Key sound capabilities include:

• Shigeru Kawai SK-EX & Kawai EX Concert Grands: Expressive tonal depth captured across every dynamic range from pianissimo to fortissimo.
• Virtual Technician Customization: Fine-tune acoustic characteristics such as damper resonance, string resonance, key-off effect, hammer noise, and touch response.
• Spatial Headphone Sound (SHS): Delivers enhanced depth and realistic spatial sound positioning when playing with headphones.

Voices & Instrument Variety

The DG30 offers 355 internal instrument voices (including 9 drum kits and full GM2 compatibility), spanning grand pianos, vintage electric pianos, organs, strings, pads, and brass. Playability is enhanced by built-in Dual, Split, and Four-Hands playing modes.
